Ubuntu:
You Heal, We Heal
Access to affordable healthcare, including therapy, continues to be a barrier that adversely impacts the health and wellbeing of everyone.

According to a recent study published in 2023, not only have the prevalence rates of diagnosed mental health disorders in America increased between 2020-2023, only about two-thirds of folks living with emotional/mental distress and diagnosed mental health disorders were able to receive treatment due to financial and environmental barriers to receive needed services and support.

The Mental Health Industrial Complex (MHIC) and healthcare capitalism is a systemic issue that needs generations worth of fixing and will not change overnight.
While I individually cannot enact change alone, I invite my community to collaborate in the facilitation of healing our community and accessing resources for us, by us.

Ubuntu is an African term meaning “I am because we are and we are therefore I am”. Ubuntu philosophy centers the experiences of the collective versus the individual and emphasizes that we impact one another.

This principle is at the heart of our community healing; we will not and cannot heal alone as individuals. We are responsible for one another. Our healing occurs within community and requires acknowledgement, humanity, compassion and care.

In the spirit of Ubuntu, your individual purchase will benefit members within our larger community. A percentage of your purchase will be donated to the Ubuntu You Heal, We Heal Fund which will allow me to facilitate quarterly mental health/healing circles that are free to our community alleviating financial burdens for folks in need seeking healing services, support and community.
Thank you for your donation.
